Members’ Conduct and Behaviour Protocols

Whilst Alfa Romeo Drivers Club encourages active information sharing and open debate among our members and users, members and users shall post, conduct themselves and behave in a lawful and civil manner - be it posting on our boards or using our system to private message and or email one another directly. By accessing and or logging/posting or otherwise interacting with this forum, you agree to use it strictly for lawful purposes only, whether you are a registered member or not.

Users and members shall adhere to the following:

  1. Members and users should be courteous and respectful to all other members and users at all times, regardless of the forum
  2. The use of foul language or unsavoury comments in any forum shall be kept to an ABSOLUTE minimum. You may not use sexually explicit, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, obscene, hateful, racially or ethnically offensive language. The repeated use of foul language or unsavoury comments in any forum will not be tolerated, and occurrences will result in disciplinary action.
  3. Spamming/Inappropriate Posting/Flooding of any or any forum by members and users will not be tolerated, and repeated occurrences will result in disciplinary action.
  4. You must respect the rights of others to participate in the forums. To this end you may not harass, defraud, threaten or cause distress and/or unwanted attention to other members.
  5. Making short posts for the sole purpose of moving your thread up the forum (“bumping”) is not allowed.
  6. You may not upload or transmit copyrighted material, without the express consent of the copyright holder.

Users and members may not use, or knowingly allow others to use, your name or membership to:

  1. Post, transmit or link to any abusive content that is, vulgar, obscene, hateful, fraudulent, unlawful, threatening, harassing, or defamatory or which discloses private or personal matters concerning any person
  2. Post, transmit or link to any material that you do not have a right to transmit under law (such as copyright) or under contractual or fiduciary relationships (as in nondisclosure agreements)
  3. Post, transmit, or link to sexually offensive/explicit material
  4. Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely state or otherwise misrepresent your affiliation with anyone or entity
  5. Post, transmit or link to statements that are intentionally false or misleading, or use such statements to manipulate the market for any security
  6. Post, transmit or link to any advertising, promotional materials, or other forms of solicitation including chain letters or pyramid schemes
  7. Collect or store personal data about other users
  8. Post, transmit or link to any file that contains viruses, corrupted files, “Trojan Horses,” or any other contaminating or destructive features that may damage someone else’s computer

Failure to meet with these rules will follow the disciplinary path as laid out:

  1. When the Code of Conduct/Disciplinary Process is updated, a message will appear in the home page, it is the responsibility of every member to ensure they are familiar and in agreement with the latest version. Ignorance is no defence.
  2. For any breach that the Alfa Romeo Drivers Club determines to warrant disciplinary action, the offending member or user will be contacted by email/PM, and alerted to the offence in question.
  3. In the first instance, you will be issued with a informal warning.
  4. On subsequent instances, a formal written warning will be issued, with instruction of what will occur if the inappropriate behaviour is not corrected, and also whether an apology is appropriate.
  5. If the behaviour continues beyond what they believe is appropriate, and after repeated warning, (i.e. More than 1 warning), the member’s membership will be withdrawn.
  6. Any further disagreement after this point may result in black listing this ex-member. The above Code of Conduct and Disciplinary Process are tools to ensure that the reputation of the forum and its members is maintained.

Alfa Romeo Drivers Club forum is a non profit, non-commercial entity, existing to allow the expression and passions of the members and forum users to be shared.

While we can’t review all transmissions by our users, Alfa Romeo Drivers Club reserves the right to monitor any information transmitted or received through our service. Alfa Romeo Drivers Club, at our sole discretion and without prior notice, may at any time review, remove, or otherwise block any post and or terminate your membership for violating the above provisions.

You are responsible for all statements made and acts that occur through the use of your membership and password. Please don’t disclose your password to anybody. If your password has been stolen, you must let us know.

Users shall join and post with goodwill, or they will be banned from further use.
